Cheeseburger Pizza

Cornmeal, for dusting

All-purpose flour, for dusting
- 1 lb. refrigerated pizza dough, at room temperature
- 8 oz. lean ground beef
- 1/2 c. barbecue sauce
- 2 oz. extra-sharp Cheddar, coarsely grated (1⁄2 cup)
- 1 head butter lettuce, torn
- 1/2 pt. cherry tomatoes, quartered
- 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp. olive oil

- Step 1Heat oven to 425°F. Dust baking sheet with cornmeal. On lightly floured surface, shape pizza dough into 14- to 16-inch oval and place on prepared baking sheet.
- Step 2Meanwhile, heat large skillet on medium. Add beef and cook, breaking up with spoon, until no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in barbecue sauce.
- Step 3Spoon beef mixture over pizza dough and sprinkle with Cheddar. Bake until crust is golden brown and crisp, 20 to 25 minutes.
- Step 4Meanwhile, in large bowl, toss lettuce, tomatoes, onion, oil, and 1⁄4 teaspoon each salt and pepper. Top pizza with salad and serve immediately.
